Dr. John Ennen graduated with honors from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles and went on to become a board certified Chiropractor specializing in Applied Kinesiology, Functional Medicine, and Clinical Nutrition. He established a private practice in 1997 and his family Holistic Wellness Clinic quickly began to thrive built primarily on word of mouth referral. He established a reputation for solving challenging chronic health conditions such as allergies, digestive disorders, seizures, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, as well as chronic pain, to name but a few. Dr. Ennen believes in a wellness approach to health rather than masking symptoms.
What’s the main difference between holistic wellness care and traditional western medicine? A holistic approach looks at the underlying causes of discomfort or disease, and then helps the body heal itself through physical adjustment, diet and exercise modification, emotional/psychological guidance or a combination of the three. With a holistic approach to discomfort or disease a shift then begins to occur in the body’s ability to correct itself. Wellness care seeks to turn on the body’s natural healing ability without the need of drugs and/or surgery (which is all western medicine has to offer). Holistic medicine instead seeks to remove anything that might interfere with the body’s normal function, (ie toxicity, negative belief systems, poor neurological function) and allowing the body to manifest its full potential.
Dr. Ennen believes that if the brain and body are working properly, they will effectively heal themselves no matter the condition. Another level of health can be achieved when the body is properly maintained and is given an opportunity to heal itself; this level goes beyond being “asymptomatic” or “pain free” and allows for limitless vitality, vibrant health, and an enhanced experience of life.
